I’ve been digging around for a new payment solution lately, and Lopay keeps popping up everywhere. They claim to be “the UK’s lowest cost, highest rated payment app” — sounds great, but we all know how marketing works, right? 😅 Thought I’d throw this out to the community and see if anyone here is using it in real life, not just influencer reviews.
According to their site, Lopay gives you:
More control over when/how you get paid
Instant access to your money (no waiting 1–3 business days like the others)
A card reader,
POS system, and extras
Super low fees (like 0.79% if you choose weekly payout)
I run a small retail stall on weekends and do pop-ups during the week, so every % matters. With SumUp and Zettle, I’m getting tired of waiting for payouts and the flat 1.75%+ fee eats up margins over time.
A few questions I have for anyone who's tried Lopay:
Is the app stable during busy hours? (Markets can get hectic, I can’t afford crashes)
How reliable is the card reader? Quick tap and go, or hit-and-miss?
Any issues with refunds or chargebacks?
How is their customer service in practice? (Not just email-only bots?)
Any delays or catches with “instant payouts”?
Do they support Apple Pay / Google Pay / contactless smoothly?
Also, curious if anyone has used their POS features — they advertise it as simple but smart, with options for receipts, reports, inventory, etc. Is it actually usable for small businesses?
I’ve seen a few baristas, food truck owners, and crafters on TikTok rave about it — but I’d love to hear from actual users here. Not sponsored content, just honest feedback.
If it delivers on all those promises, it sounds like a no-brainer. But switching payment systems is always a hassle, so I want to be sure before making the leap.
