First there are a variety of other Rolex models that also say Explorer on the dial these are most typically link from the early 1950s when Rolex seemingly had not settled on exactly what the Explorer I would be. There are also other models like the obscure Explorer Date reference 5700 link from the 1960s worth a mention link but which don't follow the standard design cues of the Explorer I.

Finally Lange nailed the two colorways link here. The grey-on-rose has become something of a signature for the brand over the years and I think it's the perfect balance of traditional and contemporary. It's a watch that looks of-the-moment now but should link age well too. The salmon-on-white on the other hand is extremely on-trend right now and I'd expect the 150 pieces to be sold two or three times over by the time anyone reads this even at six-figure prices. link That's a lot of pennies.
