How to organize the process of data collection for competitive analysis?

garrybye
Recently, I started collecting data for competitor analysis in my niche, and honestly, at first it was hard to figure out where to start. I tried just gathering information manually from different sources, but it took too much time and felt chaotic. It’s important for me not just to get the numbers, but to organize the process so that later it’s easy to analyze and compare companies. Has anyone faced a similar task and can share how to systematize data collection to make it as convenient and structured as possible?

I’ve encountered a situation where I needed to collect data on dozens of companies for comparative analysis. In my case, using tools that automate information gathering helped, for example, this useful resource. With it, I was able to collect company contact details and reviews directly from Google Maps, and then structure them in a spreadsheet for analysis. Personally, I try to first define the key parameters for comparison, and then automate the process so I don’t waste hours on manual collection. This approach really saves time and makes working with large amounts of information much easier.

I accidentally came across this topic and decided to share a few thoughts. I think that even if you’re not doing competitor analysis, it’s still useful to occasionally organize your data — whether it’s client lists, contacts, or project notes. For example, I have a habit of making small spreadsheets with notes and deadlines, and it really helps me not get lost in a large flow of information. Even simple data organization can greatly simplify work and planning, so topics like this are always interesting.

Singer Reminaged feels like its whole raison d'etre is to build over-engineered, wild variations on its own theme (don't you love a callback?) that are wildly expensive. Compared to Ming's recent AgenGraphe 20.01 S3 cased in gold, link priced at CHF 43,500, the Singer isn't in the same link ballpark. But the folks picking up Singer Vehicle link Design cars are shelling out over a million dollars for a massively reimagined Porsche 964, so I'm guessing their customer base doesn't mind too much.
