The new Richard Lange Minute Repeater operates like a fairly conventional (if there is such a thing) minute repeater. There's a sliding pusher
link integrated into the left-side caseband that engages the chiming mechanism; once actuated, the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes are rung in
link succession using a pair of gongs. The gongs are set to different pitches and
link operate off a mechanical program that can audibly indicate precisely 720 different sequences. (FYI, there are 720 minutes every 12 hours.)
