My first watch in 1969 from the Salvation Army Thrift Store was a 1938 Ingersoll Mickey Mouse. That was during the link Vietnam conflict. And link wearing a Mickey Mouse link watch was not really a form of protest but it was an acknowledgement that you weren't happy with our environment. At that time it seemed to be a silent protest type thing. I think I paid 75 cents for it. I still have it.
