How to
Diablo 4 Items Unlock Horadric Spellcrafting
Progress through the seasonal questline "The Embers Yet Smolder."
Speak with Bryona in Cerrigar to start the quest chain.
After completing the initial quests, the Horadric Spellcrafting menu unlocks.
You can access it to the left of your inventory tab.
How Horadric Spellcrafting Works
Clear Horadric Strongrooms and complete seasonal quests to unlock spells and modifiers.
You can equip only one Horadric spell (called a Catalyst) at a time in your build.
Assign a spell by dragging it onto a skill hotbar slot. Using that skill will then also trigger the Horadric spell effect (subject to its cooldown).
The main skill itself doesn't enter cooldown when the Horadric spell triggers, only the Horadric spell effect cooldown applies.
Components of Horadric Spellcrafting
There are three core components to customize your Horadric spell:
1. Catalyst (Base Spell Effect)
The main spell effect you trigger.
There are 5 Catalysts to buy Diablo IV Items.
Only one Catalyst can be equipped at a time in your build.
When you use the skill linked to the Catalyst, the Horadric spell activates.
2. Infusion (Damage Type)
Changes the damage type and associated status effect of your spell.
Examples include Fire (burn damage), Cold (chill effect), Poison (damage over time), etc.
You may equip only one Infusion at a time.
Infusions interact with your other damage modifiers (e.g., Paragon bonuses) to boost your Horadric spell damage.
3. Arcana (Modifiers)
These modify your spell's behavior or add new properties.
You can equip up to three Arcana at
cheap D4 materials a time.
