I really don't understand what happened but One thing is for sure that you had seriously messed up with your system or the files you used for the upgrade were corrupt causing such a disastrous experience for you.
Nevertheless now that everything is better I would recommend you to download Windows 10 specific / compatible drivers for your system. You could go to the official site of your PC manufacturer or to yourTrackpad manufacturer.
It's likely that an updated. Version of the drivers would be available by now for Windows 10.
