Why do US passport photos always get rejected?

Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me why MyTravelGov always rejects my photos? I've already made three different versions, but the result is the same. First it said the file was too big, then that the background didn't meet the requirements, and the last time it gave an error about the head size. Honestly, I'm tired of trying at random. I want to understand what rules apply in 2025. Before, I just went to a photo studio and had no problems.

Many people think that they can upload any photo, and the portal will accept everything. In fact, the rules are strict. Now the mandatory size is 600 by 600 pixels, JPEG only, weight up to 240 kb. The background must be white, the head should take up 50 to 69% of the frame, the eyes should be at about 60% of the bottom edge. Glasses are strictly prohibited. I took a photo at home - I just stood near a white wall, put the phone on a tripod, took a few shots and then cropped to the desired format. The main thing is not to use filters and not to upload HEIC files from an iPhone, only JPEG.

I tried to upload  photo taken in the studio six months ago, and it was also rejected because the limitation period exceeded 6 months. Therefore, it is important to take into account even such details. I believe that if you really want to take a photo at home, you need to carefully monitor the size and background. Personally, I spent an hour checking everything and bringing it to the desired state. After that, the portal accepted the photo immediately. The main thing is to calm down and strictly follow the instructions.
