Recently, I was looking at some of the same questions about the future of membership cards and "cards" in general. Digital membership cards appear to be the norm in 2025 and beyond. With the new benefits brought by AI-enabled features like personalized alerts, predictive renewal, and instant access, digital cards will have a place in nearly all organizations.
Digital membership cards are also eco-friendly (!), easy to secure, and easily integrated into mobile wallets.
In this new AI-supported future, how relevant are traditional membership cards? What sorts of challenges have organizations faced in going from "cards" to digital membership? What benefits have organization's membership experienced as a result of moving to digital cards?
I would also like to gain some perspectives, insights, and experiences from other members about this transition.
