I’m at a point where I’m seriously considering opening a new trading account, but I’m torn between sticking with my current low-leverage setup or switching to a
high leverage broker. On one hand, higher leverage sounds appealing because it gives you more flexibility and the ability to take larger positions without tying up too much capital. On the other hand, I know that the same leverage that boosts profits can just as quickly magnify losses, so I don’t want to jump into something that could put my account at unnecessary risk. For those of you who made the switch, what actually convinced you? Was it the trading style you prefer, the size of your account, or maybe specific features the broker offered? Also, I’m trying to figure out what red flags I should absolutely watch out for before choosing any platform—things like unclear regulation, hidden fees, overly aggressive marketing, or platforms that don’t offer proper risk-management tools. And on the flip side, what would you say are the must-have features that made you trust your broker? I’m talking about things like reliable customer support, transparent margin rules, negative balance protection, or solid trading infrastructure. Any firsthand experiences or advice from people who’ve been through this decision would really help me out.
