Sequins or embroidery for a classy party saree?

I'm searching for a fashionable Party Saree and would appreciate some advice. What materials can I use which will be most comfortable during prolonged functions and yet be quite fashionable? Will sequins be a superior material over embroidery for a classy party impression?
