Know United Airlines' Carry-On Bag Limits

Before heading to the airport, make sure your carry-on bag meets United Airlines' size requirements. You’re allowed one carry-on (9” x 14” x 22”) and one personal item (9” x 10” x 17”), both of which must fit within the designated storage spaces. Passengers in Basic Economy can only bring a personal item, unless they qualify for an exemption. If a full-sized carry-on is brought while in Basic Economy, it must be checked at the gate, incurring a $25 handling fee plus standard checked bag charges. Additionally, those flying on United Express regional flights may need to gate-check their carry-on due to limited overhead space.

Quick Take As photographer Kristian Haagen pointed out when presenting this award a complication is a complication and it's not clear we need separate ladies' and men's complication categories.
