Guys, hi! We launched  SaaS service, but   conversion from  free trial to  paid subscription leaves much to be desired. We tried changing offers, improving onboarding, but the result is insignificant. Maybe someone has encountered  similar situation? Which methods really work? I would like to find proven strategies, not just theoretical advice.

Plus, I saw that many companies hire agencies to optimize conversion. How effective is this? Is it worth contacting such services or is it better to figure it out yourself?

Conversion is not only about design or marketing, but also about the strategy of working with users. It is especially important how they feel the value of the service in the first days. It will be useful to hear what A/B tests have already been conducted. Maybe the problem is in the product positioning or insufficient motivation to switch to the paid version?
