You can
open PST file without using Microsoft Outlook by using a dedicated
MSOutlookHelp PST viewer tool or alternative applications that support PST format. Free PST viewers—such as the one described above—allow you to load and read PST data, including emails, contacts, calendars, tasks, and attachments, without requiring Outlook to be installed. These tools work independently and are especially helpful if you’ve received a PST file from someone else or no longer have access to Outlook.
To open a PST file using a typical PST viewer, install the software and launch it. Then select Add File or Select Folder to browse and load your PST. After scanning, the tool displays a structured preview of mailbox folders on the left and item details on the right. You can double-click any email or item to read its contents, including embedded attachments.
Many PST viewer tools also offer optional export features, such as converting PST files to PDF, EML, MBOX, MSG, HTML, or CSV. This makes it easier to access or share your mailbox data using other applications. Free versions usually allow viewing everything but may limit how many items you can export.
