I wanted to share my recent results using newsletter promotion
book marketing services for my thriller novel. I tracked everything meticulously and thought the data might help others. My book was priced at $0.99 during all promotions:
Bargain Booksy ($75) - Date: April 8
Sales: 46 copies
ROI: ~$16 profit
Notes: Easy submission process, decent results
BookBub Featured Deal ($850) - Date: April 15
Sales: 2,843 copies
ROI: ~$995 profit
Notes: Extremely difficult to get accepted, took 6 submissions
eReader News Today ($40) - Date: April 22
Sales: 57 copies
ROI: ~$20 profit
Notes: Good value for money
Robin Reads ($65) - Date: April 29
Sales: 83 copies
ROI: ~$29 profit
Notes: Solid mid-tier service
BookDoggy ($25) - Date: May 5
Sales: 18 copies
ROI: ~$6 loss
Notes: Inexpensive but lower results
The book marketing services with the best ROI weren't always the most expensive ones. I found stacking promotions over two weeks rather than consecutive days worked better, allowing Amazon's algorithm to recognize sustained interest. Also worth noting: the genre-specific newsletters often outperformed general ones despite smaller audiences. Happy to share more specifics if anyone's interested!
