While looking into publishers with a history in the U.S. I stumbled upon
David McKay Publications. Some sources point to their involvement with various books over the years, but I can’t find many firsthand accounts from authors who have worked with them.
For those of you who might have had an association with David McKay Publications, what was your experience like? Did they provide good editorial support, guidance on distribution, or help with marketing? Or did you find them more focused on the printing and production side without much author involvement?
Personal experiences really help new writers understand what to expect. Many publishers differ in how much they engage with authors. Some treat it as a partnership, while others are more transactional.
