Air France International Baggage Allowance

ATOffice09
I wanted to share my recent experience with Air France, especially regarding the  Air France Baggage Allowance, because it can be a bit confusing if you don’t check the fine print before booking. Hopefully, this helps others avoid the same last-minute stress I went through!

So, Air France has several fare classes, and each one includes (or doesn’t include) different baggage allowances. The one that catches most people off guard is Economy Light—it’s the most affordable option, but it includes zero checked baggage. You’re only allowed one cabin bag and a personal item, together not exceeding 12 kg. That’s it. If you show up with a suitcase expecting to check it in for free, you’ll be hit with a fee—and those airport fees aren’t cheap.

If you book Economy Standard or Flex, you get one checked bag up to 23 kg, which is far more practical for longer trips. Premium Economy allows two 23 kg bags, and Business Class bumps that up to two bags at 32 kg each. La Première (First Class) gets you three checked bags at 32 kg each, which is pretty generous.

Where it gets really helpful is knowing all this before you book. I used AirlinesTicketOffice to compare Air France fares, and what I liked is that they actually show you the baggage allowance right next to the fare price. That saved me from accidentally booking Economy Light when I really needed a checked bag. The site made it easy to weigh the price difference versus the baggage inclusion.

Also, quick heads-up: Air France is stricter with cabin baggage than some other airlines. They were weighing bags at the gate on my flight from Paris to Delhi, and a few travelers had to gate-check their carry-ons because they were over the limit—even just by a little. So, definitely check those dimensions and weight ahead of time.

Another tip: if you’re carrying sports equipment or musical instruments, check the special baggage rules. Some of it needs advance approval or extra charges.

Moral of the story—always check your Air France Baggage Allowance in detail before confirming your ticket. It saves you the stress of repacking at the airport or paying more than you planned. And if you’re unsure, AirlinesTicketOffice is a solid place to double-check your options while booking.

Hope this helps someone plan better. Happy flying!

The interesting aspect of the new model is the use of blue link GS logo on the dial which isn't link something we've seen in the past at least I can't think of any other references off the top of my head. We've seen the use of link gold color for the GS logo but the blue logo feels like something really special in a subtle way.
